Basically, to add stuff to the site, there are two methods:
1. Add your own content, through the "create content" menu on the left
The "Create content" menu includes:
- Group: This is the important one: this is where you add the details of your group(s) - contact details, topic areas, history, what ever you like. When you create a group, you become the administrator, and others can then join the group. You can post messages to a group, and the others in the group can receive those messages.
- Events: upcoming actions, rallies, meetings that you want to make public
- Forum topics: discussion on general topics, or suggestions for the website and network (you can also access this by clicking "forums" at the top right)
- Image: some resources require visual information to be helpful. Use this to upload that visual information.
- Page: static page relevant to the website.
- Story News or similar relevant to the Grassroots Environment Network
2. Comment on someone else's post.
Most content can be commented on, unless comments are turned off for that specific page. Forum posts can be replied to by commenting on them.
If you have any suggestions for how this could be made easier, or how it could otherwise be improved, post something to the forum, then we can discuss it, and make it happen. It should be good!
