Set up by Barry Marsh in 1990's, NBEC was relaunched in 2006 to help solve climate change chaos through bicycle culture and community involvement

Rising Tide is a grassroots action group from Newcastle, mostly acting on Climate Change and Coal. RTN formed in mid-late 2004.

Novocastrians Against Nuclear (NAN) began in the beginning of 2007. It is a very small group (with little capacity). It's aim is to act as a local information hub to spread the word about different anti-nucler campaigns across Australia. It is mostly dormant but can undertake specific tasks and projects when they arise.

Envirowiki was started in August 2006, as an openly editable knowledge database for environmentalists and social justice activists. It's currently looking for more contributions from anyone interested in these fields.
